MERYL STERN

I am an insatiable learner. I spend ridiculous amounts of time researching, reading, and sourcing for my clients, and equally for my own bank of knowledge and curiosity. To me, design is my way of expressing how I want to “be” in a space. The awareness I have of the impact great design has on the human spirit, the friendships that grow organically out of the work I do, the countless ways to create solutions, the puzzle of space planning, the bottomless cyclone of artisans and creatives, the collaboration – all of this is what fuels me every day.

I am an awarded, published interior designer with over 25 years leading my design firm in NY, NJ, and CA on residential, commercial, and hospitality projects. I earned my Bachelor of Accountancy from The George Washington University and climbed the corporate ladder as a tax accountant. After 8 years, I bravely switched careers and chose to study design, graduating with high honors from New York School of Interior Design. Both sides of my brain are on full throttle at all times. I see the big picture through all the important details, the value of collaboration, and the intrinsic reward from delivering a timely, on budget, beautiful project.

I choose to live a beautiful life, whether it be in the sunshine, ocean and mountains of Northern California or the energy of my big bustling New York City. I am inspired by the wonderful people that welcome me into their lives and thrive on raising the bar.
